Jair Bustillos is an aspiring and award winning mixologist native to the world class city of Las Vegas Nevada. Jair began his career the same week he turned 21 and met his mentor. He was part of a critically acclaimed sustainable seafood restaurant rm seafood with an extensive cocktail menu. He was instrumental in respected multiple cocktail programs, large scale events in the city, a corporate Mixologist for 3rd party hospitality firm Back Bar USA and an independent ambassador for certain luxury brands. With Back Bar USA Mr. Bustillos gained experiences needed to work in all parts of the market including on and off premise, general market, cocktail events, charities and spirits education.


Jair has also worked side by side and has been mentored with the best, experts like J.R. Starkus, and the Director of Mixology for Southern Wine & Spirits, Francesco Lafranconi. Mr. Bustillos is certified as a Spirit’s Professional through the USBG Master Accreditation Levels 1 and is the youngest ever certified. He also has an advanced degree in BarSmarts, certified by the CRT for Tequila by the Mexican government, a Certified Beer Server and a graduate with the title of Professional Bartender from the Southern Wine and Spirits Academy of Spirits Fine Service and Hospitality.


In 2013 Jair began his career with Southern Wine & Spirits as part of the Mixology team. Now as a Spirits Educator for Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada, Mr. Bustillos is constantly looking for what’s new and exciting for the Las Vegas market. He creates and recreates classic cocktails new and old and educates the public on why certain things are important with the guidance and experiences of his mentor Francesco Lafranconi.


Jair is no stranger to competitions as he has also won 1st place in 2011 for the Iron Chef Cocktail Classic, 2nd place the following year for the same competition, 2nd place local competition Cocktail K.O. sponsored by Absolut & St-Germain, 1st place BeerTale Cocktail competition inside the Bellagio, 2nd place and People’s Choice Award at Surrender Nightclub Cocktail Classic. Recently he was a finalist and one of 8 finalists selected nationally out of 350+ entries to be sent to New Orleans representing Southern Wine and Spirits of Nevada as part of the cocktail competition “Shake the Vine” for Chateau ST-Michelle part of the international organization, Tales of the Cocktail. The most recent competition was during May 2016 where contestants were able to grocery shop in the street markets of Oaxaca and were able to bring their ingredients back using only locally sourced ingredients. Jair placed 2nd along with, Lane H., his partner and proud owner of her own mezcal bar, Bar Clavel located in Baltimore, Maryland.
